Our Story

Everyone in South Dakota, regardless of income, knows not to buy beef from the grocery store. They know the best beef is found at the locally owned and operated ranches where the cattle benefit from low stress and roaming the great plains where buffalo gathered for thousands of years. When our founder moved out of South Dakota he remembered this truth about beef, but found difficulty in getting the same quality he knew growing up. Here at 90 West Beef we pride ourselves on bringing the best beef sourced from small ranching operations who use time honored traditions in feeding out their cattle. This 'great, great, grandpas' method of finishing on real corn and not feedstock/waste products combined with
the South Dakota environment provides the highest quality beef which we are now bringing to all of you.

We are 90 West Beef, sourcing cattle from the best family owned and operated ranches in South Dakota. After generations of raising cattle, we’ve learned how to source the most exceptional beef. Our Akaushi Wagyu beef’s superior quality, flavor, and marbling can be attributed to three fundamental factors: genetics, environment, and care. Our name derives the from the iconic I-90 West freeway which is the most well-known and traveled road in South Dakota where our roots were established.
